Preserving food by dehydration
Our RB Dehydration Unit is mobile. Currently, located at the dock of Direct Organic’s Plus in the beautiful Similkameen Valley.
In 2019, the build of our first commercial dehydration unit was spurred into action by the need to dehydrate apple pomace for a customer. Apple pomace is the very nutritious apple pulp, left over, from juicing apples. A design for a dehydrator, had been brewing for at least 20 yrs. It is designed to be low in energy consumption, drying at low temperatures, preserving maximum food value. By the end of 2020 our first Dehydration Unit was built, met the Health Inspector’s requirements and Organic certification was approved. We are now in full production.
All our products are created from quality organic foods from the Similkameen Valley and the South Okanagan Valley.
